Please remember the following 2 simple actions to finally get your reference:

1) Silverlight only supports basicHttpBinding (default: wsHttpBinding) -> so change it in the web.config file

2) close your Visual Studio & reopen it again.

Now try to update your reference: ét voilà!

Reason: The Property “Value” of an element contains ALL values from descendents also!
That’s why there is no need to recursivly parse the childnodes.

So I searched for alternatives, and found a very pretty proof of concept. This guy is using a modified version of csharp-SQLLite to manage a database in Isolated Storage. I tried it a few minutes ago, and although it has some performance issues yet, it’s working also with the beta release of Windows Phone 7 Development Tools.

It can be used in combination with linq, so here is how to parse a very simple xml-file:

Approach 1:

use a combination of Linq, and a traditional foreach-Loop:

In both concepts you implement a purpose built http server in the Host Application that wants to communicate with a Silverlight App integrated in a Webbrowser Control.

Some of this Scenarios can be solved with Silverlight 4 out of Browser functionalities – yet this is a very flexible and generic approach that fits our current challenges better.

Guess, the result is quite okay so far. For what you can see, I used 2 components:
- PanoramaView Control: look&feel like known from the MS presentations
- AnimateOrientation: does the animation when rotating the phone.

Then I discovered, that the mouse-pointer was not at first position in the toolbox. So I rightclicked the toolbox, and chose “Reset Toolbox”. And there it was again: the mouse pointer at topmost position.

I do not know, why this happend, but now I can choose the controls on a form again.

One more nasty thing: Intellisense was disabled for C#. I had to turn it on manually …

Als erstes Beispiel eine Applikation zur Zukunftsvorsorge der Groupama Group. Dieses Beispiel zeigt wie mit dreidimensionalen Objekten das Angebot “begreifbar” gemacht werden kann und verschiedene Parameter geändert werden können. Das  Gesamtergebnis wird dabei im Hintergrund immer gleich aktualisiert.

Mittlerweile können wir Lösungen, wie die hier gezeigten so entwickeln, dass die Lösung nicht nur auf Surface, sondern auch auf Windows 7 touch/multitouch oder als Silverlight Lösung im Browser laufen kann (mit minimalen Unterschieden in der Benutzerführung).

Im nächsten Beispiel, das auf der CeBit 2010 von der deutschen Sparkassen Gruppe vorgestellt wurde, kann sogar ein Vertragsabschluss am Tisch selbst erfolgen.

Microsoft hat mittlerweile die Sessions auf der MIX10 Seite announced, die sich mit Windows Phone 7 beschäftigen werden.
