Im Februar in Barcelona von Joe Belfiore präsentiert – wird es zu Windows Phone 7 – auch endlich öffentlich verfügbare Devices geben.

Somit verstehe ich ja den Slogan der neuen Werbelinie als: “ Seid’s endlich da ihr Geräte!” – obwohl als echter Wiener würde ich ihn ja mit: “Geh her do!” übersetzen.

Microsoft zielt aber mit dem Slogan darauf ab – uns allen wieder mehr Aufmerksamkeit für andere Dinge zu ermöglichen.

Wir sind gespannt!

Es ist doch immer wieder erfreulich zu sehen, dass unsere gute, alte “Spin-the-Bottle” App immer noch zu den beliebtesten Apps für Windows Phone gehört !

In diesem Sinne …. viel Spass im Urlaub – egal ob beim Flaschendrehen oder Mäxchen spielen!

… und an den nächsten Games für Windows Phone7 und MS Surface arbeiten wir schon

This is fine,… but if the app crashes or you forget to implement the  ”ShowTasbar” function your TaskBar is gone (till the next cold reset). So I searched and found the following “lightweight” way to “hide” the TaskBar.

Steffest versteht offensichtlich etwas von Instrumenten – und von Software-Entwicklung für verschiedenste Smartphones.

Deswegen hat er eine “Smartphone-Gitarre” bzw. eigentlich ein “Smartphone-Orchester” gebaut.

Das folgende Slide wurde von Microsoft auf der MIX10 in Las Vegas präsentiert und gibt einen guten Überblick über die Windows 7 Phone Application Platform.

Aufgrund der Consumer-Ausrichtung der zukünftigen Version von Windows Phone wird es spannend werden – Win7 Phones im Enterprise Bereich zu  positionieren. Obwohl es eine Vielzahl von Stimmen gibt, die die strategische Ausrichtung auf den Consumer Bereich kritisieren, sehe ich hier enormes Potential mit den richtigen Apps 1-to-1 Marketing machen zu können und mit Silverlight lassen sich ohnedies Business Apps auch auf unterschiedlichen Devices und Betriebssystemen deployen. [da kommt es dann nur darafu an, dass man den richtigen Partner für die Abstimmung mit den unterschiedlichen Devices findet

Ich glaube, dass die (breite) Verbreitung von Win7 Phone auch für den Business Bereich wichtig ist und bin schon gespannt wieviel Fahrt Microsoft jetzt bis zum Start der ersten Geräte aufnehmen kann. (CZ)

Microsoft hat mittlerweile die Sessions auf der MIX10 Seite announced, die sich mit Windows Phone 7 beschäftigen werden.

Insgesamt nichts wirklich Unerwartetes – Silverlight ist als tag bei den jeweiligen Sessions häufig vertreten

It will be interesting what OS Enterprise Mobility Devices will be running in the next 3 to 5 Years – CE or WM 6.5? Since CE 6.0 R3 everything seems to be in place for those use cases!

It all started with a joke on Teched EMEA 2008 in Barcelona. By the end of the evening, Rizo got so enthusiastic about it that he stayed awake and delivered the first release already in the morning.  Consequently we were able to show Spin the Bottle to the World in the very last panel discussion at the event.
When Marketplace got in place last October we decided to put it on to gain experience with the application store and certification process, so we would have experience for consulting our customers.
We know the graphics of our app could be nicer – yet we never imagined it would be so successful. The development was done more or less in spare time, on the positive side the “lean” graphics make it work also on OMAP 200 based devices like the HTC Wizard.
Windows Marketplace was a little rough around the edges when it came out! Nevertheless I have to admit it got quite mature rather fast.
During the certification process the feedback from the marketplace authority about issues in our software when failing the test where precise and always to the point. This is a clear indication that enough manpower is involved in the testing and as a result the quality of the customer experience is kept high. As a consumer I like the way the application store works – nevertheless the IPhone’s software distribution has a still a little edge because it informs proactively about software updates. Because it can leverage a Push mechanism.
From my inside-the-industry  position the only thing that’s strange is that companies who don’t have their HQ in one of the Windows Mobile Marketplace markets are banned from publishing software!

In this article I learned about a new Framework called Fluid – which gives IPhone style Controls to Windows Mobile Dev.

Also Silvermoon is mentioned – yet this still has the Problem like Tigre that it only works nice on devices with Open GL ES Support.
