GPIXS360 can provide video content, which can be paused at any given point displaying a 360° panorama. This is so fascinating that we included it right away in our Surface 2.0 Solution thereby porting it from Google Maps to Bing-Maps!

How you can do that in a simple way? In that case you typically need to:

1. setup an Visual Studio Project and take care of some settings (e.g. usage of 3.5 NET); 2. develop a form; 3. compile the VS project into assembly; 4. import the form into your EA model, AMUSE reverse engineers it from the assembly and create a form class; 5. create an attribute in the class, that contains the state machine of type of reverse engineered form class; 6. connect form events with the state machine triggers; 7. initialize your form at state machine initializing phase
We recommend not import the form class directly but rather to create a wrapper class that contains only the events and methods you really need for modeling, otherwise the reverse engineered form class contains too much stuff inherited from the Form basis class. That means you have basically one more step to do.

The described procedure is not really complex and after performing it once you have a reusable template. In addition you develop and test the UI in very comfortable VS development environment.

But what if the usage of VS is not an option or you just want to perform the whole modeling using EA environment only?
– Not a problem at all . Following XMI contains a simple model including an integrated Windows Form: simple model including an integrated Windows Form

The idea is as simple as the implementation itself. First of all we have to know which .NET assemblies are referenced by AMUSE and therefore are available for behavior programming: System; System.Core; System.Data; System.XML; WindowsBase and most important for us System.Windows.Forms
Following steps are to do:

1. create an attribute e.g. testDialog of type System.Windows.Forms.Form with following initial value: new System.Windows.Forms.Form()
2. create a method e.g. ShaowDialog() responsible for the form initialization. Please find the example initial code below:

Ein Medienbruch ist bei einem Arbeitsprozess immer eine Herausforderung. Aus rechtlichen oder technischen Gründen ist eine persönliche Unterschrift manchmal unumgänglich. Das unterschriebene Dokument soll jedoch ohne Aufwand wieder in den elektronischen Arbeitsprozess zurückgeführt werden können.

Ocf|Recognition löst diese Herausforderung mit QrCodes. Auf das gewünschte Dokument wird an einer definierten Position ein QrCode aufgebracht. Dieser QrCode stellt im wesentlichen eine eindeutige ID (Guid) dar. Das Dokument kann dann ausgedruckt und unterschrieben werden. Mit Ocf|Recognition lässt sich das unterschriebene Dokument wieder einscannen, wird über den QrCode wiedererkannt und kann dem entsprechend in den elektronischen Arbeitsprozess wieder zurückgeführt werden.

Als erstes Beispiel eine Applikation zur Zukunftsvorsorge der Groupama Group. Dieses Beispiel zeigt wie mit dreidimensionalen Objekten das Angebot “begreifbar” gemacht werden kann und verschiedene Parameter geändert werden können. Das  Gesamtergebnis wird dabei im Hintergrund immer gleich aktualisiert.

Mittlerweile können wir Lösungen, wie die hier gezeigten so entwickeln, dass die Lösung nicht nur auf Surface, sondern auch auf Windows 7 touch/multitouch oder als Silverlight Lösung im Browser laufen kann (mit minimalen Unterschieden in der Benutzerführung).

Im nächsten Beispiel, das auf der CeBit 2010 von der deutschen Sparkassen Gruppe vorgestellt wurde, kann sogar ein Vertragsabschluss am Tisch selbst erfolgen.

Ken Hickley, Koji Yatani, Michel Pahud, Nicole Coddington, Jenny Rodenhouse und Bill Buxton von Microsoft Research haben das folgende Video auf Youtube gepostet. Sie zeigen, wie ein User Interface basierend auf Stift und (Multi-touch) Eingabe funktionieren kann. Die Demo wird dabei auf einem Microsoft Surface Tisch – wie man im Video schön sehen kann – gemacht. Damit ist das ganze ja keine Zukunftsmusik, sondern benötigt “nur” einen Stift, der von der Infrarotkamera als schön heller Punkt erkannt wird – idealerweise also mit eigener, feiner, kleiner Infrarot-Lichtquelle.

Im folgenden Vorschaubild ist der – für Micrososft Surface passende – Stift schön zu erkennen.

 Heute früh waren wir bei unserem Kunden Signa und haben gemeinsam mit Microsoft die auf MS Surface basierte Lösung Signa Surface in einem Gespräch mit Mag. Thomas Pichler von pressetext.at vorgestellt. Signa Surface ist seit ca. 4 Wochen im Livebetrieb und es sind bereits über 40GB an multimedialen Inhalten eingepflegt, die schon fast das gesamte Portfolio der zur Signa Holding gehörenden Tochterfirmen abdecken. Laut Franz Hillebrand, dem Manager Group-IT bei Signa , geht das Konzept voll auf. Die Besucher der Signa Holding im Palais Harrach in Wien, können am Signa Surface kaum vorbeigehen, ohne sich damit zu beschäftigen und das Feedback ist einfach nur: “Wow!” (http://pressetext.com/news/091104038/microsoft-surface-bringt-erhofften-wow-effekt/)

“Wow” – dachten wir uns auch bei den Bildern und Renderings der Villen am Gardasee, die bei Signa Development im Moment in die Verkaufsphase gehen …

Das funktioniert soweit auch hat aber einen entscheidenden Fehler, auf den man schnell kommt, wenn man sich die MSDN Dokumentation anschaut.

Der Handle der von GetHBitmap zurückgeliefert wird, muss nämlich manuell wieder freigegeben werden. Und zwar mit der DeleteObject Methode:
